Luxembourg Lacrosse Club was born in late 2016 when the nine founding members created the Luxembourg Lacrosse Club a.s.b.l., and decided to play under the team names “Blacksmiths Luxembourg” and “Black Lynx Luxembourg” for men and women respectively.

In Luxembourg, the sport of Lacrosse has had incredible growth in the past 4 years, with 9 founding players in December 2016 to more than 50 players in 2020. Today both the Black Lynx and Blacksmiths compete in the Belgian Lacrosse League. At youth level, we successfully launched “Lacrosse Academy” in collaboration with Lycée Guillaume Kroll in Oct’20 with the vision to create the “next generation of homegrown players”. 3 schools have introduced Lacrosse in their physical education curriculum with coaching support and material donations of Luxembourg Lacrosse and this number will more than double by end of term 20-21 . In the next few years, the goal is to further establish Lacrosse in Luxembourg, by creating 2-3 new clubs and equipping further schools with Lacrosse equipment. This would then allow for a full-time Lacrosse coach to be hired and a national league to be started, a goal also supported by the national Olympic and Sports Committee COSL.
